“True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country.” ― Kurt Vonnegut
There is an amazing new show that is being televised on the ABC called Sh*tsville Express. The premise is four young Australians of varying political alignments are taken on a bus to ‘Shitsville’ to solve the problems that really effect Australia. Basically, the host shows them all different sides of the stories and debates presenting them to interest groups, intellectuals, and individuals who have been effected by a certain social event. It is utterly amazing television. Nothing is better than watching these hardliners being shown that the real issues are a lot more complex than what their ideologies cover,
It is simple but effective. It made me realise the huge gaps in knowledge that I had especially about Coal Seam Gas and the science behind it. Yesterday, I would have been totally against it. But today I am not so sure. I will need to do more research and confirm whether anything presented in the show was 100% accurate but if it was, I don’t know.
A friend once ask me to big an ideology and stick with it. I don’t think that is a good way to live your life. I would rather get all the facts before making a decision. But sometimes even if you think you know all the facts you really don’t. Just like CSG with me. Temperance, temperance is the word we need.
